Ox Close Primary School, Spennymoor – Wetpour and Rubber Mulch Surface

Following the addition of a new classroom, Ox Close Primary School asked Abacus to help develop the existing grass and bark area into an all weather space suitable for the reception children. Taking into account the schools specific requirements we drafted a design for their approval which incorporated a new wetpour surface and new resin bonded rubber mulch surface.

Abacus carried out sub-structure works, site clearance and fencing re-alignment ready to install the new safety surfaces. A roadway themed graphic was included in the wetpour surface along with simple shapes. A three colour mix was chosen for the rubber mulch area giving a natural looking finish.
